Abstract

LiFi Is A Wireless Communication Method That Uses Light For Sending Data, While Wi-Fi Uses Radio Signals. LiFi Can Give Good Performance Over A Short Distance, But The Connection Can Be Affected When The Light Path Is Blocked Or The Receiver Is Moved Away. Wi-Fi Does Not Have The Same Line-of-sight Problem, So It Can Be Used As A Backup. In This Work, A Hybrid LiFi–Wi-Fi Communication System Is Developed Using ESP32. The Data Is Divided Into Small Packets And Sent Through LiFi And Wi-Fi. Each Packet Contains A Sequence Number And CRC So That The Receiver Can Check The Packet And Arrange The Packets In The Correct Order. The Experimental Results Show That LiFi Gives Better Packet Delivery At Shorter Distances, While Packet Delivery And Throughput Decrease As The Distance Increases. Wi-Fi Is Used When The LiFi Signal Becomes Weak. The System Shows That Combining The Two Communication Methods Can Help Maintain Data Communication When The LiFi Link Is Not Reliable.
