TRAJECTORY BASED DAMPING OF ELECTROMECHANICAL OSCILLATIONS

Abstract

This paper represents an implementation of trajectory based damping of electromechanical oscillations. We basically use Reinforcement Learning (RL) to improve damping by generating supplementary inputs to be applied to the generator. This paper also compares the Model Predictive Control (MPC) and RL .The RL based control scheme is first implemented on single generator and several possibilities have been investigated to extend it to Generators.
