Abstract |
Plants have been used as natural sources of medicines since ancient times. Recently, due to emergence of antibiotic resistant microorganisms, demand of natural or herbal alternatives of synthetic antibiotics has increased leading to research into medicinal plants and their potential herbal antibiotics. The present study was intended to screening the plant Acacia nilotica (Family – Mimosaceae) for the significant antibacterial activities against some human pathogenic bacteria and its comparative study with standard antibiotics which was determined and evaluated by Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing using the Kirby-Bauer Disk Diffusion Method. |
