Abstract |
In this paper a new kind of rational quartic trigonometric Bézier curve is defined. These curves not only have most properties of the quartic Bézier curves with the Bernstein basis in the polynomial space, but also have other properties for shape modelling. The shape parameter provides freedom for design and shape control of the curve. Here we give a shape preserving interpolation condition based on shape parameter. Thus we can easily construct smooth curves of any shape. The shape of the curve can be adjusted by altering the values of shape parameter while the control polygon is kept unchanged. These curves can be used as an efficient model for geometric design in the fields of CAGD. |
